Welcome to Foundation Stage! We work with children from three to five years and follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. We have a FS1 Base (Nursery) and a FS2 Base (Reception). The teachers in FS1 are Mrs Hotchkiss and Miss Hotchkiss who are supported by Curriculum Specialist Mrs Byrne and Teaching Assistants Mrs Stephens and Mrs Harrison. In FS2 the teachers are Mrs Bell and Mrs Hurst who are supported by Teaching Assistants Miss Shaw and Miss Crooks.

During children’s time in Foundation Stage they will cover three prime areas of learning through child led and adult led activities. The prime areas are: Communication and Language, Physical Development and Personal, Social and Emotional Development. These prime areas are the most essential to a child’s healthy development and future learning.

They will also cover four specific areas which are: Literacy, Mathematical Development, Understanding the World and Expressive Arts and Design. We work closely together as a Foundation Stage team and with the rest of Angram Bank School. We take part in Achievement Day, termly Parents Evening, parent workshops and fundraising events. Children get on the Angram Bank bus in our Foundation Stage and continue on an exciting learning journey!

Adverse Weather Procedures

The weather forecast is indicating that we are entering a period of colder weather and with this comes the possibility of snow at some point.

Angram Bank Primary School will always do its utmost to stay open, however, closures and changes to opening times may occur due to reasons such as bad weather.

Listed below is a reminder to parents/carers of the procedures we would operate to inform you of any changes to the school opening times
.

1. Text message

The designated contact for each student will receive a text message if there are any changes to the school opening times.  Please check with the office that your contact details are up to date and correct.
We will not send out messages to parents/carers if we are open.

2. School Website

Information about a school closure will always be posted on our website and updated regularly so please check for the latest information.

3.  Sheffield City Council Website

The school will also notify the Sheffield City Council of any closure.  You can register to receive email updates about changes to the school opening times:

www.sheffield.gov.uk/schoolclosures

If heavy snow falls during the school day, the school will remain open until 3.30pm.   Parents concerned about collecting their children at 3.30pm are advised to come to school earlier to collect them if this is deemed to be a safer option.

Beatles Mania

Today Y1 and Y2 were visited by TOFFEE to enjoy some 60s musical fun.

They shared five Beatles songs with us and we are now on with the challenge of learning all the lyrics plus dance moves! Here's some photos from our amazing afternoon.

TOFFEE are coming back into school on the 28th February for a special performance so save that date in your diary for the moment!

We have been able to have this musical opportunity because of the generous fundraising by the parents of Angram Bank.

Dodgeball Champions!

After school today, 14 year 2s went to Ecclesfield Secondary School to take part in a KS1 Dodgeball tournament.

They worked incredibly hard and showed so much resilience throughout.
Despite facing some tough competition, both the boys and girls teams came in 1st place!

Their preparation in Dodgeball club paid off and we couldn't be prouder of them!

Well done to Gracie who also won one of the players of the tournament.

A huge thank you to all the families that came to cheer us on too! The cheer for Angram Bank at the end was fantastic!

Check back tomorrow for the winning team photo.
