Welcome to Foundation Stage! We work with children from three to five years and follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. We have a FS1 Base (Nursery) and a FS2 Base (Reception). The teachers in FS1 are Mrs Hotchkiss and Miss Hotchkiss who are supported by Curriculum Specialist Mrs Byrne and Teaching Assistants Mrs Stephens and Mrs Harrison. In FS2 the teachers are Mrs Bell and Mrs Hurst who are supported by Teaching Assistant Miss Shaw.

During children’s time in Foundation Stage they will cover three prime areas of learning through child led and adult led activities. The prime areas are: Communication and Language, Physical Development and Personal, Social and Emotional Development. These prime areas are the most essential to a child’s healthy development and future learning.

They will also cover four specific areas which are: Literacy, Mathematical Development, Understanding the World and Expressive Arts and Design. We work closely together as a Foundation Stage team and with the rest of Angram Bank School. We take part in Achievement Day, termly Parents Evening, parent workshops and fundraising events. Children get on the Angram Bank bus in our Foundation Stage and continue on an exciting learning journey!

African Adventure

Our Infant sports day theme was an African Adventure and the children had a variety of different activities to do.  The children had to tame lions, mine for diamonds, pack a suit case, survive the mosquito attack and lots more!  A huge thank you to Mrs Bell for creating the African adventure and thank you to all of the parents who came to support their children.

Girl Power

On Monday 23rd May 2016 at Angram Bank we hosted a Y5/6 football competition with Windmill Hill, Greengate Lane and High Green. The Y5/6 football club were split into a boys and girls team with a couple of other girls to help fill the team. There were 4 teams in the girls tournament and despite being 1 girl down with only 8 girls, the team played strongly and finished in 3rd place. The boys tournament was tougher with 5 teams and alot of strong players. Angram Bank held their ground and made it to the semi finals but unfortunately lost this match on penalties. Amy was awarded a special ‘Honesty’ award from the referees as she showed great school games values on the pitch. Our sports leaders Brynley, Declan and Leah showed excellent leadership skills throughout the tournament as they refereed all matches. Looking forward to more football at Angram Bank in the future!
